Jun 30, 2006 - Dynatec Systems Inc. is part of a team that has designed and built a wastewater treatment facility (WTF) at a new no-calorie sweetener manufacturing plant in Singapore. Dynatec is responsible for the ultrafiltration (UF) system and others are providing the thermophilic membrane bioreactor (MBR). The system is scheduled to begin operation in August, 2006. The water treatment facility will treat the high-strength wastewater produced by the plant’s manufacturing process to discharge standards. Dynatec provided the critical ultrafiltration component of the treatment system. Ultrafiltration is a form of filtration that uses a semi-permeable membrane to separate the mixed liquor from the water phase. It is especially applicable for high-mixed liquor biological applications. The Dynatec-designed ultrafiltration system is unique in that it will treat wastewater at high temperatures (55–60 °C) with very high concentrations of mixed-liquor suspended solids (MLSS) — 25,000 to 35,000 ppm MLSS as compared to a normal concentration of about 10,000 to 15,000 ppm MLSS.
Each system consists of ten membrane modules composed of 8-mm polymeric tubular membranes mounted on a skid. Two skids operate in conjunction with the membrane bioreactor to treat the high-strength wastewater; a third skid is in reserve on standby status. The system will filter more than 412,000 gallons of wastewater per day and will operate 24 hours per day, 365 days per year. Dynatec Systems Inc. has more than twenty-five years of experience in wastewater treatment and provides high-quality, state-of-the-art wastewater treatment and purification systems worldwide. Dynatec is known for its excellent service at below average cost. To learn more about ultrafiltration and other wastewater treatment solutions, contact Dynatec Systems Inc.
