Mar 1, 2006 - Dynatec Systems Inc. has
delivered three ultrafiltration units for an oily wastewater treatment
system to the Jigang Steel Company in Jinan, China. The integrated
steel mill produces raw steel that is then processed in a wide variety
of ways to create product that is used in domestic appliances, such as
refrigerators and washing machines, and in the automotive industry.
The final stage of production — a cold rolling operation —
produces oily wastewater. A three-step process will be used to treat
the water. First, heavy solids in the water will be allowed to settle.
Then the water will be treated using ultrafiltration (UF). Finally, the
water will pass through a biological treatment system and be discharged.
Dynatec Systems Inc. designed and built the UF system which is
composed of four ceramic UF membrane modules mounted on a skid (see
photo). Two skids will operate concurrently to treat 57,000 gallons of
wastewater per day. The third skid will be on standby status.

The ultrafiltration skids were built in the United States and
shipped to the Jigang plant where they will be incorporated into the
wastewater treatment system. A Dynatec engineer will be at the plant to
commission the system when it begins operation in March 2006. To learn more about ultrafiltration wastewater treatment systems, contact Dynatec Systems Inc.
